Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation on Neuropeptide Transcript Levels in the Synganglion of Ixodes ricinus


" ... radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation does alter the levels of neuropeptide transcripts in the central nervous system of Ixodes ricinus. While both tested intensities affected the mRNA levels, the intensity of 40 V/m and 1 h of radiation exposure produced the most significant results. A more dramatic impact on female ticks was noted.
