" It was found that moderate electromagnetic shielding, which attenuates constant and variable components of the geomagnetic field (19 h per day for 10 days), induces in male rats the development of depression-like behavior. This behavior is diagnosed on the basis of increased passive swimming time and a decreased duration of active swimming in the Porsolt test. These behaviors reach their peak on days 3–4 of the experiment." They also found increased level of intraspecies aggressiveness. Administration of melatonin can paliate these dysfunctions partially. |
